The unique pocket placement is achieved by using spacers behind the inner pockets, ensuring the teeth mounted in those positions strike the stump first. In a traditional spiral, 2 or more teeth are engaged in the cut at a time. This bogs the motor down, decreases RPM and increases the chip load per tooth which leads to chattering. With 120 degrees of separation between each tooth, the Reverse-S™ pattern breaks up the traditional spiral by cutting in a 27" arc with only one tooth engaged in the stump at a time.
