How to determine what pitch I need?
A chain's pitch is determined by measuring the distance between the centers of andy 3 consecutive rivets and dividing by two.
What is the gauge?
Gauge of a chain is the thickness of the drive link measured at the tang. It's essential that the drive link thickness correctly matches the width of the groove in the guide bar. Normal wear makes it difficult to accurately measure drive link thickness on used chain. Always order by the number stamped on the master side link of your old chain to assure correct gauge.
